Visitor from Philadephia, USA

Betty and Wilf Higginbottom were pleased to welcome Uche Onuoha a daughter of past members Kris and Ify to stay for a few days. Kris & Ify now live with their family in Philadelphia.  Uche was visiting London as part of a short course for her medical training, and wanted to visit her birthplace. She will now have graduated as a Doctor in the US. Uche is Kris and Ify's 3rd daughter of 7, they also have 1 son. It was wonderful to see Uche again who was only a toddler when her parents left Leeds to return to Nigeria before moving once again to America where they are all now settled.

Margaret Swires

Margaret Swires is our BMS (Baptist Missionary Society) link Missionary in Peru Hunslet supports Margaret prayerfully and financially.

Margaret is working with the Peruvian Baptist Convention in the area of holistic ministry, initially in the capital city Lima. She relocated to Peru in November 2005 following 20 years with BMS in Brazil.

"We are seeking out what other organisations are doing in this area in order to see how we can work in our churches, alerting to the problems, prevention and help. As ever the key is how to present the programmes. I have been to many very proficient conferences and training sessions on an incredibly wide variety of subjects, but am concerned at the amazingly low level of actual action after words. The Lord has promised that the dry times are nearly over and the blessings are coming, so keep praying with me."
