The Way Forward Project
"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11
The Way Forward Project is we believe a vision that God has given us for the future of Hunslet Baptist Church to bring new life not only into the church but the surrounding locality.
The project is a great step of faith to redevelop this Grade II Listed Building ensuring it has all the modern facilities required by present legislation whilst retaining its historic and architectural heritage and integrity as a Place of Worship.See Plans
We are to create an affordable venue for community groups and local businesses providing conference facilities with full disabled access and parking. Smaller suites will also be available.
Following completion of Phase I, funding is now being sought to finance Phase II of this project and we have so far received grants from The Church Urban Fund for the Nursery provision, Biffaward and Green Leeds*, the Allchurches Trust , Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust and Veolia Environmental Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation and most recently The Listed Places of Worship Scheme Grant totalling just over £200,000.
2007 was the year of our 170th Anniversary and we held a fundraising concert to coincide with this celebration on the 10th March 2007, see Celebration Concert.

*Green Leeds Limited was established in September 1997 by Leeds City Council for the purpose of receiving and administering landfill tax credits in Leeds. It is a Distributive Environmental Body which offers grants for environmental projects to groups across Leeds. The funding comes primarily through the Biffaward scheme.
